Q: WHAT CONTROL PANEL DO I GET WITH THE BLACKBOX AND DOES THE GC3 COST EXTRA?

The Blackbox comes with the industry leading 2GIG GC2 control panel. However, for an upgrade fee as little as $49.95, you can get the all-new GC3 control panel.

Q: Does the Blackbox come with a yard sign and/or window decals?

Yes, 1 yard sign and 5 window decals come included in the Blackbox.

Q: Can I order additional yard signs or window decals?

Yes, you may order additional yard signs and window decals at no cost to you.

Q: Is the Blackbox a wireless home security system?

The Blackbox is 100% wireless. No wires, no mess!

Q: How does the Blackbox communicate with the monitoring center?

The Blackbox is 100% cellular. No vulnerable phone line or internet connection is required! The control panel comes with a Verizon SIM-card. If you do not have good Verizon reception in your area, you can opt for an AT&T SIM-card.

Q: Does the Verizon/AT&T service cost extra?

No, the Verizon/AT&T service is built into your monitoring plan at no extra monthly charge.

Q: Does the GC2 come with a siren or do I need to purchase one separately?

Yes, the GC2 has a built-in siren.

Q: Will I need to mount the GC2 control panel to the wall?

We send a desktop stand with each Blackbox for an easy drill-less application. We also send screws in case you want to mount the control panel to the wall for a more professional look.

Q: Is the Blackbox portable?

The Blackbox, being a 100% wireless and cellular home security system, is extremely portable. Simply give us a call or email us at support@armorax.com with your new install address and we'll take care of the rest.

Q: Is there any activation/re-location fees?

No, there are no activation/re-location fees. Absolutely no hidden charges!

Q: Will the Blackbox continue to function in the event of a power outage?

Yes, the GC2 control panel is 100% cellular, comes with a built-in 24 hour backup battery and the sensors are battery operated as well.

Q: What if someone breaks in and damages the control panel before it can alert the monitoring center?

With our Complete plan, the Blackbox comes equipped with Alarm.com’s patented Crash and Smash technology. This basically means that if an intruder tries to destroy the control panel, a signal will still be transmitted to the monitoring station.

Q: How long is the warranty?

We offer a 3-year warranty.

Q: Are there any shipping charges?

The Blackbox and any other items (add-ons) that are ordered together are shipped for free via FedEx Ground. Delivery takes 2-4 business days. Shipping will be charged only for extra sensors/devices (add-ons) ordered at a later date separately.

Q: How long does it take to ship my order out?

After you have signed the contract, it takes 48 hours to process and ship out your order.

Q: How does the 30-day trial work?

You have 30 days to try the Blackbox out. If you don’t love it you can send it back for a full refund. We’ll even pay for return shipping!

Q: Can I purchase add-ons through third-party retailers?

Add-ons must be purchased through Armorax directly unless it is a product Armorax does not carry or have in stock.

Q: Are there any no-contract plans?

Although there is no such thing as a no-contract plan (since you do have to sign an agreement), we do have a no billing-commitment plan where you may purchase the Blackbox at full price and cancel service at any time without penalty.

Q: How am I billed after the 3-year contract is over?

After the 3-year contract is over you’re billed month-to-month and you may cancel service at any time.

Q: What central monitoring station do you use and is it licensed?

Our central monitoring station is C.O.P.S. (Central Office Processing Services). They are UL-listed and licensed in all 50 states.

Q: Do I have to pay a penalty fee if I cancel service before the contract ends?

Yes, there is a penalty fee if service is canceled before the contract ends. The amount of the penalty depends on the number of months remaining in the contract.

Q: Can I control the Blackbox from overseas?

As long as you have an internet connection and are able to access Alarm.com, you can control your system from anywhere in the world!

Q: Is the motion detector pet-friendly?

Yes, the motion detector has immunity for pets up to 33 lbs in order to prevent false alarms. However, customers have reported that this is not always the case and the motion detector can detect motion from much lighter weight pets, especially cats.

Q: What cameras do you recommend for indoors?

For indoors, we recommend the Alarm.com ADC-V521IR. Please visit the Equipment page to learn more about the Alarm.com ADC-V521IR.

Q: What cameras do you recommend for outdoors?

We do not recommend any outdoor cameras at this point for a lack of choices out on the market that work with Alarm.com. However, a lot of our customers opt for the Skybell HD doorbell camera instead, due to it's ease of install and outstanding picture quality.

Q: Is it possible to only get video monitoring services?

Yes, it is possible. However, this would be a custom order. Please get in touch with an Armorax specialist and they will be more than happy to put together a video only monitoring plan for you.

Q: Is the Blackbox compatible with doorbell cameras?

Yes, the Blackbox is compatible with the Skybell HD doorbell camera.

Q: How is the indoor camera powered?

The Alarm.com ADC-V521IR needs to be powered by an AC outlet. Other than that, the camera is wireless and you may place it anywhere as long as it is powered and is getting a working WiFi connection.

Q: Do the monitoring plans come with cloud storage?

All monitoring plans comes with cloud storage for up to 1000 clips of 2-3 minutes in length (each). For continuous recording, you must purchase the Alarm.com SVR.

Q: Is there an additional charge for additional cloud storage?

Yes, there is an additional fee for additional cloud storage. The fee depends on the amount of extra storage required. For continuous recording, you must purchase the Alarm.com SVR.

Q: Can I download video clips uploaded to the cloud?

Yes, you may download up to 1000 clips of 2-3 minutes in length (each) per month.

Q: Does the Alarm.com indoor camera feature night vision?

Yes, the Alarm.com ADC-V521IR comes equipped with night vision.

Post-Purchase Questions

Q: What is the best location to place the control panel?

It is best to place the control panel as high up as you can on a counter-top/desk and generally in an open area such as the kitchen or living room. Do not put the control panel in a closet or in the basement, as the control panel relies on a good cellular connection to relay commands to the monitoring station.

Q: I just got my Blackbox and the control panel keeps beeping. What do I do?

The beeping sound is nothing to be alarmed about. This either happens when the backup battery is still charging or you haven’t marked 'read' the notifications in the message center on the control panel. When you first get the Blackbox, the control panel’s backup battery is fully drained, so please allow up to 24 hours for it to fully charge.

Q: How do I install the door/window sensors?

All you need to do is stick the door/window sensors using the double-sided tape provided. The smaller piece (magnet) should ideally go on the frame of the door/window and the bigger piece (switch) on the door/window itself. However, you may apply them the other way around without issue - just make sure that the arrow on the smaller piece is facing and is aligned to the lines on the bigger piece, and that the distance between the two pieces is no more than 0.4 inches.

Q: How do I name the sensors?

To name the sensors, you can visit our website (www.armorax.com) and chat with a specialist and they will name the sensors for you or you can email in your request at support@armorax.com. You may also re-name them yourself from the control panel. Please refer to the descriptor codes provided in the Quick Start Guide. If you re-name them on your Alarm.com account, please bear in mind that the new names will only be shown on your Alarm.com account/app and not on your control panel.

Q: What is the difference between Exit Delay and Entry Delay?

Exit Delay is the time you have between manually arming your system and leaving your home. Entry Delay is the time you have between entering your home and disarming your system.

Q: What do I do in case of a false alarm?

In the event of a false alarm, our monitoring station will contact you and you will need to provide them your passcode and notify them that it was a false alarm.

Q: How do I cancel a false alarm?

To cancel a false alarm, please contact us via live chat and we will attempt to cancel your false alarm. However, please note there is no guarantee that we will be able to successfully cancel it. The chances of getting a false alarm successfully canceled depends a lot on how quick you request us to cancel it and other factors outside of our control.

Q: How do I order more equipment?

Q: How do I update my billing information?

Give us a call at 1-888-619-8797 to update your billing information or you can do it over chat with one of our specialists.

Q: Will the Blackbox qualify me for a homeowners insurance discount?

Most homeowers do get an insurance discount with any one of our professional monitoring plans, Cover or Complete. Upon request, we’ll email you a certificate that you can show to your insurance provider.

Q: How high up should I install the motion detector?

The motion detector should be approximately 8 feet above the ground, screw side facing up. You may install it screw side down to make it less sensitive to motion at lower heights. We send double-sided tape for easy installation. We also provide screws for a more professional installation.
